Update on Kelly
Kelly is progressing well but still needs prayers for a complete recovery which is apparently going to take weeks or even months.
She is able to walk around the gym during physical therapy and go up and down stairs (praise the Lord!) but is using an electric wheelchair for longer distances up and down the halls of the rehab hospital. She is able to move her hands a little bit and pick up light pieces of food and feed herself but not able to lift anything heavier than a grape, and not able to put any weight on her arms. Just trusting God that she will get there eventually. She is hoping to go home sometime this week and then will go to outpatient therapy.

Fingerprint Friday - Prayers needed for Kelly
I am asking everyone to pray for our sweet Kelly, my son Johnathan's fiance. She is 19. Last Saturday suddenly she couldn't move her arms and he took her to urgent care, then to the hospital. Later she lost movement in her legs too. She has been diagnosed with a rare condition called Transverse Myelitis, inflammation of the spinal cord. She was in the hospital for 5 days, then transferred to a Rehab Hospital for physical therapy.
She has recovered some movement in her arms and legs and can stand for a short time with help. She is unable to use her hands at all. Someone has to do everything for her - feed her, sign forms for her, change the TV channel...everything. Think about everything you do with your hands.
There are so few cases of this - only 3 or 4 people per million get it - so there's no certainty as to prognosis. Some people suddenly are ok, some recover partially, and some not at all. Please pray with our family for her complete recovery and for PEACE. I notice that depression is a potent enemy at times like this for her and all of us who love her.

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them? To find out how to join "Fingerprint Friday" and see links to other posts, visit Beki at The Rusted Chain.
