Etsy ...Everything Wonderful in Life!

A few days ago, I joined a new group on Facebook called Etsy ...Everything Wonderful in Life.

All shop owners on Etsy are welcome to join! You can post a link to anything in your shop, and there's a Treasury Challenge. On the info page is a list of members, and we are all asked to make Treasuries with items from each other's shops. This increases the chances of getting our shops on the front page! Yay!

I made one last night called Earthy Beauty. Comments and clicks appreciated.

Fingerprint Friday - So Dear

Our reward for putting off mowing the grass was this beautiful young doe coming into our yard for a snack last weekend.

I couldn't go outside without scaring her back into the woods, so I took the photo looking out the window. My husband saw a mama and two fawns a couple of days ago. He mowed yesterday so that's it for the restaurant business. :)

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

Fingerprint Friday - Fresh from the Farm

This summer, we've been buying fresh produce, eggs and homemade salsas and relishes from this new farm outlet near our house. Everything is so good!

I get a kick out of the farm fresh eggs being all different sizes, shapes and colors and some with speckles ... since this city girl had only had grocery store eggs before which are carefully sorted and uniform. Wow, what a difference in taste! We'll never go back to grocery store eggs again.

We also have a farmer's market at work every Wednesday this summer. Not only are their vegetables and herbs marvelous, but they also have homemade bread and cake. Mmm.

Sometimes bedbugs are not a bad thing! An etsy seller named Krista has named her etsy shop "bedbugs" which is a nickname for her two kids.

Thanks to Krista for featuring my etsy shop on her blog.

Fingerprint Friday - August Beauty

Sunflowers are my favorite end-of-the-summer flowers. I found these growing near downtown Hendersonville.

And these were grown on a friend's farm.

Here are some interesting facts from Wikipedia ...
  • The sunflower buds follows the sun, facing the east at sunrise, then moving with the sun all day (called heliotropism). But when they bloom, they can't move anymore and face just east or south.
  • What is usually called the flower is actually a head of numerous florets (small flowers) crowded together.
  • The seeds are in the center, arranged in spiral patterns.
  • Most grow to heights of 5-12 feet, with the record being 40 feet.
  • Commercial uses include sunflower seeds, oil, and sunbutter (an alternative to peanut butter), and the cake that remains after processing can be used for livestock feed.
  • The sunflower is the state flower of Kansas and the national flower of Ukraine.

Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
1 Chronicles 29:14

Fingerprint Friday - Summertime Blessings

I just learned the name of these trees last summer and am enjoying being able to say, "Ooo look, a crape myrtle!" They are especially beautiful this year. There's a row of them near our Sam's and Walmart so I made my husband stop the car last week so I could get a photo. He also had to wait downtown another day while I got some sunflower photos which I'll share with you next week. I am grateful for his patience.  =)

And all these blessings shall come upon thee and overtake thee,
if thou hear the voice of the Lord Thy God.
Deuteronomy 28:2
