A day in Knoxville

Stewart and Jeff

We met my son, daughter-in-law and three grandkids from Ohio in Knoxville today. My 13-year-old grandson was in a National Olympics Competition at the Knoxville Convention Center, and it was amazing to watch some of the best 12 and 13 year old boy gymnasts in the country. He was in 6 different events throughout the afternoon - pummel (his favorite), rings, high bar, floor routine, vault and parallel bars. Then we walked a few blocks to Market Square Mall - a really cool outdoor mall (the street is blocked off to vehicles) with all kinds of shops and restaurants, and street musicians. It was fun to sit outside eating salads, pizza and burritos from Tomato Head restaurant, listen to live music, and watch all the people walking around and kids playing in the fountain. We also enjoyed the sculptures in Krutch Park near the mall.
