Fingerprint Friday - A Bird in the Hand

A friend from my church choir and I were standing outside talking after Mass a couple of Sundays ago, after everyone else had left. Brother Michael, one of our Capuchin (Franciscan) friars, came out to lock up the front doors of the church, and said, "Oh, look, a bird." A little bird had apparently hit one of the front windows and was sitting on the window ledge, dazed. After a few minutes it flew up in the air but couldn't find its way out from under the carport in the front of the church, and landed again on the window ledge.

Brother Michael picked it up, walked out into the parking lot, and waited for it to fly off. It was apparently still dazed because it sat there for several minutes before it flew away, and I was able to get these photos with my phone. Brother Michael kept saying, "I've waited my whole life for this to happen." So cool! He looks just like St. Francis.

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

Where do you see God's fingerprints? In nature? kids? animals? They are all around us!

Oh Neat! We have birds fly into our front window all the time and sometimes they sit on the ground dazed. It is so neat to watch them.

Hi,

Loved this picture. What a precious gift to hold a tiny bird in the palm of your hand.

Where have I seen the fingerprints of God? The last few mornings as I have opened the front door to let my little bichon, Tex, out, I have been met by an incredible symphony of birds in song. It sounds as if they are offering up praises to their Creator. I absolutely love it and find myself looking forward to every morning just to hear their beautiful songs.

Blessings,

Wendy

It's St.Francis of Assissi! Wow! How cool is that!
Do you take your camera everywhere? I'd have had to use my cell phone camera and the picture would be awful.
What a great moment and a great catch!
