Fingerprint Friday - Longing to know Him more

My favorite quiet place for prayer and reflection is in the woods surrounding our house.

My fingerprint for this week is a song I've been hearing on our Christian radio station that touches my heart very deeply. It's called "I Want To Know You."

At certain times in my life when I have been in great need of the Lord's guidance, I have been blessed to hear His voice...and sometimes He leads me with quiet nudges in my spirit. I know He is listening because of answered prayers, and He often shows me His face through other people ... through their wise words, unselfish love and gentle hugs. Even so, I always long to know Him more and more, and cherish my quiet times alone with Him.

"I Want To Know You" - Sonicflood

In the secret, in the quiet place
In the stillness You are there
In the secret, In the quiet hour I wait, only for You
'Cause I want to know You more

I want to know You
I want to hear Your voice
I want to know You more
I want to touch You
I want to see Your face
I want to know You more

I am reaching for the highest goal
That I might receive the prize
Pressing onward, Pushing every hindrance aside, out of my way
'Cause I want to know You more

I want to know You
I want to hear Your voice
I want to know You more
I want to touch You
I want to see Your face
I want to know You more

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God

Where do you see God's fingerprints? In nature? kids? animals? They are all around us!

Growing up we had a HUGE yard at my dads house with TONS of trees... when I needed to get away I would run to the back line of trees and just sit and think... this looks just like I remember those days, thanks for reminding me to get away to a special spot, it's always needed!! Happy Friday!

Peaceful and lovely post about such important things. It's strange....when I opened your post I started singing an old "ABBA" song called, "I Believe in Angels." The lyrics that came to mind were:

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream.

Now, don't get me wrong, I doubt ABBA and I would share the same theology but don't you find God speaks to our hearts through so many things? And this beautiful song just peacefully floated across my mind tonight and I haven't thought of it in years. Just thought I'd tell you. :)

I see God's fingerprints each time I take a bike ride on the nature trail. His fingerprints can be found in people, friends, family, kids, animals too. Sometimes we are too busy to notice.
