Will it learn how to bark?

I got another cute dog email today and just had to share. It says: "Pictures of a foster family in Ohio. She is fostering this guy for another mom who couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are open. He is just a little bigger than her other pups. She loves this little guy more than the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest puppy ever because she licks him all the time."

Featured Etsy Artist - Mosaico

Here's another member of the Polymer Clay Guild I'd like you to meet. She makes "decorative decor to enhance the spirit of your home." Visit her etsy shop - Mosaico - to see a wide variety of switchplate cover designs to match any room and style.

She explains, "I've taken a humble piece of hardware and elevated it to a decorative accessory...functional art for your walls. Even if you don’t own your own home, decorative switch plates are a great way to add some personality to any room with just a screw driver."

She makes each switchplate cover by putting her polymer clay design right onto the plastic cover and then curing the entire piece. Then she seals it with multiple coats of polyurethane and includes matching screws.

I love the colors and design of this one, called "Tropical Punch."

I made a new "tiny pet" this week. Here he is, sitting on the bookcase in my craft room, keeping an eye on things.

I will be making more of these - cats and dogs.

I love faces! Here is a brooch with a white face (made with a commercial mold) with a sparkly glossy finish, surrounded by a fancy textured frame, in black clay with blue paint highlights.

These are available for purchase, along with other creations, in my etsy shop. I am always happy to do custom orders if you'd like a design a little different (as a pendant instead of a pin, for example, or in a different color or size, etc.)

Isn't this the cutest puppy ever?

I got this wonderful email on Valentine's Day! I love love love this puppy! Here's what the email said:
"A puppy has been born in Japan with a large, clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat. The Chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder. Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a puppy with the mark had been born out of a thousand she had bred. She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named 'Heart-kun'. The long-coated male Chihuahua puppy was born in Odate, northern Japan."

Don't you just want to squeeze him? :-)

Lunch!?

One of my friends at work asked me to make a mischievous cat and bird pin. This is the design I came up with (about 2" tall). Like it?

Custom requests welcome! I can make cats, dogs or any type of pet from a photo or I can make your favorite animal.

New Etsy Shop - Linda's Hair Boutique

My sister-in-law Linda just opened an Etsy shop, called Linda's Hair Boutique.

She says she started making hair accessories because her granddaughter's hair was always falling down in her eyes and Linda couldn't stand it. Isn't she adorable? Now she always looks neat and has something to match every outfit.

Linda's headbands and ponytail holders come in a wide variety of colors and fabric choices, with something for everyone from flower and horse lovers to Hot Peppers and Tar Heels fans. The headbands fit adults and children, age 3+.

Here are some of my favorites:

Red Roses Headband

Golf Headband

Smiling Frog Ponytail Holder

Breast Cancer Awareness Ponytail Holder

The results of the voting for the February PCAGOE (Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy) Challenge are in! Go here to see the winners! I am ecstatic that I was one of the Honorable Mention winners! First place went to "Looking for Some Romance" by Naama Zamir of naamaza.etsy.com who says, "Meet Joe, a hopelessly romantic guy looking for some love to light him up. Joe is sculpted of a refurbished lightbulb."
